Inspired by the traditional Filipino balisong, the Cold Steel Medium Luzon blends classic styling with modern engineering to create a fast-deploying, lightweight folding knife built for everyday carry, outdoor adventures, and utility work. Designed through a collaboration between Lynn C. Thompson and Mike Wallace, the Luzon offers the look and feel of a balisong while operating as a practical flipper knife.

The 4-inch clip point blade is crafted from durable 8Cr13MoV stainless steel, heat treated to 57–58 HRC for an excellent balance of edge retention, toughness, corrosion resistance, and easy maintenance. Its razor-sharp plain edge and strong clip point provide outstanding versatility for slicing, piercing, and everyday cutting tasks.

The distinctive glass-filled nylon (GFN) handle features a unique bamboo-inspired design with ergonomic contours that provide multiple comfortable grip positions while remaining lightweight, weather resistant, and highly durable. The knife utilizes a robust Spring Leaf Lock along with Cold Steel's innovative secondary safety switch, providing additional security during heavy cutting tasks.
